Coastal Carolina defeats NC Central 94-59

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Chad Gray scored 25 points and Dexter Moore added 22 to lead Coastal Carolina to a 94-59 victory over North Carolina Central on Thursday night.

The Chanticleers (25-3) played without leading scorer and rebounder Desmond Holloway, who was suspended indefinitely on Thursday for an eligibility issue. They also were without point guard Kierre Greenwood, who tore a ligament in his left knee on Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season.

Coastal Carolina shot 56.7 percent from the field (34 of 60) and outrebounded the Eagles 43-23.

The Chanticleers scored the first 11 points of the second half to lead 54-29 on Gray’s jumper with 16:39 left.

Danny Nieman and Sam McLaurin scored 12 points each and Anthony Raffa added 11 for Coastal Carolina.

Jeremy Ingram scored 14 points, C.J. Wilkerson 13, Nick Chasten 12 and Landon Clement 10 for North Carolina Central (12-12).
