Buffalo beats Wisconsin-Milwaukee 80-65

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Zach Filzen scored a career-high 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting to lead Buffalo over Wisconsin-Milwaukee 80-65 on Saturday night, snapping the Panthers’ seven-game winning streak.

The Bulls (16-9) led 41-32 at halftime and extended their lead, thanks to a 12-3 run midway through the second half.

Byron Mulkey added 13 points, Mitchell Watt had 11 and Titus Robinson 10 for Buffalo, which shot 59.2 percent from the floor (29 of 49), including 8 of 14 from 3-point range (57.1 percent).

The Bulls scored 18 points off 14 turnovers and outrebounded Wisconsin-Milwaukee 31-28.

Anthony Hill scored 19 points, Tone Boyle added 16 and Ja’Rob McCallum 15 for the Panthers (16-12), who shot 23 of 57 from the field (40.4 percent), including 7 of 24 from beyond the arc (29.2 percent).

Filzen scored 23 points on five 3-pointers in the opening half.
