Texas-Arlington tops SE Louisiana 68-66 in OT

HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Brandon Edwards tipped in a missed shot to clinch Texas-Arlington’s 68-66 overtime win against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.

The Mavericks (13-12, 7-5 Southland Conference) trailed 66-64 after a layup by Jason Marks with 2:12 left to play in OT. Bo Ingram knocked down two free throws with just over a minute remaining before Edwards converted the tip-in off Shaquille White-Miller’s missed layup.

Ingram led Texas-Arlington with 13 points, while Cameron Catlett and LaMarcus Reed each scored 12. Reed also grabbed 14 rebounds.

The Lions (12-12, 6-6) trailed 63-60 with less than a minute to play in regulation before David Ndoumba converted a three-point play to tie the score at 63 with 37 seconds left.

Ndoumba finished with 18 points for Southeastern Louisiana, which shot 32.3 percent from the floor (20 of 62). Gary Dixon added 14 points and Brandon Fortenberry 11.
