SEATTLE (AP) — Winter has at least one more blast in store for Washington.

The National Weather Service forecasts a foot or more of new snow by Tuesday night at some spots in the Cascades.

Forecasters say Arctic air will spread across Washington during the middle of the week, bringing a chance of lowland snow in Western Washington on Wednesday night or Thursday. Colder, drier air is expected by the end of the week.

In Eastern Washington, snow is forecast Monday night in the northeast and southeast corners of the state and more is possible as colder weather arrives, bringing temperatures 20 degrees below average by the end of the week.
