The driver of a pickup was ticketed Monday after he allegedly hit a pedestrian in a marked flashing crosswalk at East Fourth Plain Boulevard near Todd Road, close to Evergreen Park, police said.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene at 4:05 p.m. and found the pedestrian conscious and speaking, said Sgt. Kathy McNicholas with the Vancouver Police Department. She said the man possibly suffered two broken legs and was taken to a hospital.

The pedestrian’s name and medical condition were not immediately available from police, nor was the driver’s name.

The driver received a ticket for allegedly failing to obey a traffic control device, McNicholas said.

Driving too fast or alcohol were not involved, McNicholas said.
