TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A man accused of firing the shot that killed a Tacoma, Wash., city employee on her front porch has been ordered held on $2 million bail.
Not guilty pleas were also entered Monday in Pierce County Superior Court on behalf of 25-year-old Olujimi Blakeney. He is charged with first-degree murder, drive-by shooting and unlawfully possessing a firearm.
Lisa Marie Melancon was shot July 22 as she stepped out onto the front porch of her home while calling 911 to report a fistfight nearby.
Court documents say police believe Blakeney fired the fatal shot from a car fleeing the scene.
