JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Martavius Adams made 7 of 10 shots and scored 17 points to pace Arkansas State to a 74-65 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette on Thursday night.

Adams also had seven rebounds for the Red Wolves (8-10, 3-2 Sun Belt), who opened the game with a 12-2 run on the way to their seventh home win in as many tries. The Ragin Cajuns (3-13, 1-4) dropped their 14th straight road game. Their last victory away from Lafayette came on Jan. 30, 2010, at Louisiana-Monroe.

Donald Boone scored 16 points and Brandon Peterson added 11 for the Red Wolves, who made 54 percent of their shots (29 of 54) while the Ragin Cajuns connected on just 41 percent (24 of 58) of their field-goal attempts.

J.J. Thomas led Louisiana-Lafayette with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Javan Mitchell added 12 points.

Arkansas State led 43-34 at halftime and stretched it to 11 points, 68-57, on Trey Finn’s 3-pointer with 6:04 remaining. The Ragin Cajuns reeled off seven straight points to cut the lead to 68-64, but that’s as close as they would get.
