IGLS, Austria (AP) — Defending champion Martins Dukurs won a World Cup skeleton race Saturday to extend his lead in the standings.
The Olympic silver medalist from Latvia posted the fastest time in both runs and finished in 1 minute, 45.95 seconds to beat Russia’s Sergei Chudinov by 0.80 seconds. Chudinov’s teammate Alexander Tretiakov was third.
Dukurs leads the standings with 1,044 points, followed by Tretiakov on 955.
The skeleton World Cup moves next week to Winterberg, Germany.
