Saint Peter’s holds off Siena 77-69

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Ryan Bacon had a career-high 25 points along with 15 rebounds and Saint Peter’s held off Siena 77-69 on Friday night, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Saints.

Bacon also had five blocks, four steals and two assists for the Peacocks (10-9, 5-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who have won two of their last three games.

Siena (7-11, 4-4) led 11-6 early, then Saint Peter’s used a 16-3 run to pull ahead 22-14 with 9:16 to go until halftime.

The Peacocks led 41-31 at halftime and by as many as 19 with 58-39 with 14:20 to go, but Siena got to 70-67 with 1:16 left on a layup by Ryan Rossiter.

Saint Peter’s then made 7 of 9 free throws, with Bacon hitting 6 of 8, to seal the win.

Wesley Jenkins added 17 points for the Peacocks.

Rossiter had 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead Siena, Rakeem Brookins had 15 points and O.D. Anosike grabbed 13 boards.
