Valparaiso turns back Wisconsin-Milwaukee 60-43

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Michael Rogers scored 14 points to pace Valparaiso to a 60-43 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Friday night.

Howard Little added 12 points and Cory Johnson and Matt Kenney 11 each for the league-leading Crusaders (15-5, 7-1 Horizon), who won their fifth straight and ninth in the last 10.

Tony Meier scored 16 points for the Panthers (9-11, 4-5), who lost their second in a row. They shot just 28.3 percent (13 of 46) and made only 2 of 21 3-pointers.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee started 0-for-12 and did not score a basket until Jerard Ajami converted with 6:14 left in the first half, at which point Valparaiso led 24-9. The Panthers shot 4 of 19 in the first half and trailed 33-16 at intermission.

Rogers’ basket gave the Crusaders their largest lead at 50-28 with 10:27 left.

Valparaiso shot 46.4 percent (26 of 56), outrebounded the Panthers 38-32 and forced 16 turnovers.
