OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Attorney General Rob McKenna has raised more than $600,000 in the opening weeks of his campaign for governor.

A spokeswoman for McKenna said Friday that the money raised through the end of June hasn’t been fully counted yet and the campaign does not have final numbers reflection how much cash he has on hand. The $600,000 does not include any transfers from the Republican’s attorney general campaign fund or any personal money.

Democratic opponent Jay Inslee has not released his June figures, and a spokeswoman said they were still counting. He previously reported raising some $110,000 during the week starting June 20.

Both sides say the race will likely cost millions. The leading candidates for governor in 2008 raised and spent more than $10 million each.
