SEATTLE (AP) — Second baseman Orlando Hudson was feeling better Sunday but was out of the San Diego Padres lineup again with a sore knee.

Hudson fouled a pitch off his left knee in Friday night’s series opener against Seattle. Manager Bud Black said the plan was for Hudson to go through pregame work on Sunday and be evaluated before the Padres open their series on Monday in San Francisco.

Black also said that injured right-hander Aaron Harang will begin a rehab stint on Monday night at Class A Lake Elsinore.

Harang went on the disabled list June 13 with a right foot contusion. He’s expected to need at least two rehab starts before the Padres will consider bringing him off the DL.
