Palestinians: 2 killed in Gaza blast

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian medics say two people have been killed in a large explosion in the central Gaza Strip.

Officials in Gaza are still trying to determine the cause of the blast, which went off near the border with Israel. The dead were not immediately identified.

Israel and Gaza militants have observed an unofficial truce since April, and it was not clear if the explosion came in fighting with Israel.

In the past, Palestinian militants have accidentally set off blasts when mishandling explosives.

The Israeli military had no immediate comment.
