SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber has poached an employee from a fellow Democrat to serve as his legislative director.
Ktizhaber’s office announced Wednesday morning that Dmitri Palmateer will serve in the role, one he worked in previously with U.S Sen. Jeff Merkley.
Palmateer was most recently Merkley’s statewide business liaison and is a former history professor at Willamette University.
Kitzhaber’s previous legislative director, Brian Shipley, took a job in the private sector.
