MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say an elderly Port Townsend, Wash., woman has died of injuries suffered in a single-car rollover accident on Interstate 5 in southern Oregon.

Both 79-year-old Christine Holme and her 80-year-old husband Daniel Holme were pulled from the wreckage Thursday by firefighters and taken to a nearby hospital.

Lt. Gregg Hastings says the woman died of her injuries after arriving at Rogue Valley Medical Center. Her husband, who was driving, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

State police say both were using safety restraints when their southbound car traveled off the freeway near Gold Hill, hit a roadway marker and barrier, then rolled onto its top.
