SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is coming to Portland.
Romney isn’t stumping for votes in the famously liberal Oregon city. Rather, he’s looking for cash to power his bid for the Republican nomination for president. He’s holding a private fundraiser Monday in the city’s West Hills.
Romney has so-far outraised his GOP primary opponents, taking in $18 million over the last three months.
Oregon’s primary election comes relatively late in the process and is usually too late to influence the party nominees.
