Hockinson — Angela Burckhard showed her American Saddlebred gelding, Class Dismissed “Skeeter,” at the 2011 Pinto Horse World Championships in Tulsa, Okla., in June. Burckhard and her horse have attended the show several times but 2011 is their best showing. Anthony Wilson, a trainer from Ridgefield, also made the trip.

Burckhard’s horse competed in numerous events and won several world champion belt buckles, two reserve championships and eight top five placings. Class Dismissed has one of the best show records in Pinto horse history, earning more than 35 world and reserve world championship titles.

Burckhard said the trip can be grueling for the horse because of the travel time. This year they had to change their route several times because of the EHV horse virus and some states had issued travel restrictions.

Burckhard and her husband, Mark, own Park Place Show Horses in Hockinson.
