ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Rays have put catcher John Jaso on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right side.
The move was announced on Thursday and is retroactive to last Sunday.
The Rays plan to recall catcher Jose Lobaton and left-handed pitcher Jake McGee from Triple-A Durham on Friday, when they open a three-game series against Boston.
Tampa Bay’s roster had been at 24 players since outfielder Brandon Guyer was optioned to Durham after Sunday’s game.
