Sunday looks a little nicer

Clark County basked in rare 2011 sunshine Friday. With temperatures reaching the mid-70s by 2 p.m., it was the kind of day to leave work early, or to postpone work entirely.

Among people lucky enough to enjoy the sun were Jeannine and Omar Dougherty of Lake Shore. They enjoyed the morning sun and conversation together as they looked out over a field of dandelions next to their home.

“This is our start every morning when the sun is out,” said Omar. The couple married three months ago and spent their honeymoon hiking and enjoying the outdoors in Eastern Oregon.

Unfortunately, the sunshine is not forecast to last. Rain will return just in time for the weekend, forecasters predict.

They call for a 70 percent chance of rain on Saturday and the thermometer won't even top 70. Sunday, however, looks dry and the sun may make an appearance. Expect a high of 73, according to the weather service.
