MORRISON, Colo. (AP) — Cruz Pedregon was the top provisional qualifier Friday in the Funny Car division at the NHRA Mopar Mile High Nationals.
He covered the 1,000-foot run at Bandimere Speedway in 4.095 seconds in his Toyota Camry, reaching 307.51 mph and setting a Funny Car record at the track.
Del Worsham (Top Fuel), Mike Edwards (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycle) topped their divisions.
Worsham posted a 3.933-second pass at 314.53 mph; Edwards ran a quarter mile in 6.989 seconds and 196.50 mph and Krawiec covered a quarter mile in 7.311 seconds and 181.96 mph.
The top 16 from qualifying rounds Friday and Saturday advance to Sunday’s elimination rounds.
