TORONTO (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles activated designated hitter Vladimir Guerrero off the 15-day disabled list Tuesday and optioned right-hander Mark Worrell to Triple-A Norfolk.

Also Tuesday, Orioles left-hander Mike Gonzalez began serving a three-game suspension and will miss his team’s series against the Blue Jays.

Guerrero suffered a broken bone in his right hand when he was hit by a pitch from Boston’s Kyle Weiland in a July 10 game at Fenway Park. He’s batting .279 with seven homers and 31 RBIs.

Gonzalez was fined and suspended for throwing behind Boston’s David Ortiz in the same game Guerrero was injured. The incident came two days after Ortiz and Orioles right-hander Kevin Gregg traded punches on the field, inciting a bench-clearing incident.
