MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired infielder Felipe Lopez from the Tampa Bay Rays for cash.

The move Thursday came on the same day the Brewers put All-Star second baseman Rickie Weeks on the 15-day disabled list with a left ankle sprain.

Weeks was injured Wednesday when he beat out an infield hit.

Lopez, who played 66 games with the Brewers during the second half of the 2009 season, was playing at Triple A-Durham for the Rays. He was hitting .305 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs in 48 games.
