KENT, Wash. (AP) — About 100 people demonstrated Tuesday night in Kent against the city’s order to close medical marijuana dispensaries.

KOMO-TV reports they included 72-year-old Lee Ann Cook who was totally against marijuana until her doctor prescribed it. Now she doesn’t know how she’ll get it.

The city of Kent notified marijuana dispensaries this week they must close or lose their business license and face criminal charges.

Mayor Suzette Cooke says the city was left with no choice after the state failed to clarify medical marijuana rules under drug laws.
