Churches in Partnership, a team of volunteers from several local Presbyterian churches, will host a ground blessing to kick off its summer community gardening to benefit the Clark County Food Bank.

The event is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clark County Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St. There will be prayer and a brief talk about the project.

Churches in Partnership is a project of St. John’s Presbyterian in Camas and First Presbyterian and Columbia Presbyterian in Vancouver. But you don’t need to be a church member — everyone is welcome to participate in the food bank farming project. Last year’s yield was 8.05 tons of vegetables for the Clark County Food Bank.
