Kyle Singler
Age: 23
Position: Forward
Height/Weight: 6-8, 230
College: Duke
Noteworthy: Was the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player after the Blue Devils won the national title in 2010. He also was a four-year starter at Duke, averaging 16.2 points per game for his career, which ranks fourth on the program’s all-time scoring ledger. Singler also shot .399 from 3-point distance as a junior.
Draft projection: NBA Draft Express currently has Singler as the No. 24 overall pick. His 3-point shooting percentage dipped 0.78 points from his junior to senior year, and while he is fundamentally sound and considered ready to make an immediate impact, he lacks athleticism compared to his potential NBA peers.
Jeremy Tyler
Age: 19
Position: Forward/Center
Height/Weight: 6-10, 260
Team: Tokyo Apache
Noteworthy: Tyler skipped his senior year of high school to play professional basketball in Israel, then went to Japan a year later. He averaged 9.9 points and 6.4 rebounds for Tokyo Apache last year, and 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in the Israeli League the season before. Tyler said he does not regret the unconventional path he has taken to the NBA, and has been eyeing June 23 for two years now. He also had a documentary crew following him since his sophomore year of high school.
Draft projection: Draft Express has Tyler going as the seventh pick in the second round, although there isn’t much consensus on when he might be taken. His athleticism is among the best in the draft, but still has skills in need of refinement.
