Man found with head trauma in Missoula has died

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old Spokane, Wash., man who was found unconscious with severe head trauma outside the Elks Club in Missoula over the weekend.

Lt. Richard Sepper says Angelo Lorenzo Fuentes was found at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday and was taken to St. Patrick Hospital. It is unknown if his injuries were accidental or if he was beaten.

Employee Brock Eggleston says he saw Fuentes "laughing and joking" with people outside the club late Friday night. But when he looked out the window just after midnight, he saw the man lying bloody on the sidewalk.

Fuentes was on life support until early Sunday when the Missoula County coroner pronounced him dead.

Clayton DeVoe, board chairman of the Elks Club, says bartenders told him they refused to serve Fuentes because he was too intoxicated.
