LOON LAKE, Wash. (AP) — The Stevens County Sheriff says a man shot multiple times by a deputy was armed with a stolen gun.
Kendle Allen told the Spokesman-Review that 23-year-old Trinidy Lopez was pointing the gun at the deputy when he was shot early Saturday.
Lopez, of Loon Lake, was in satisfactory condition Sunday at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Allen said two deputies went to Lopez’s home because they believed he was a suspect in a series of car break-ins reported hours before. Only one of the deputies fired.
He said Lopez was wanted on a warrant issued from Spokane County at the time of the shooting.
