WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) — A jury has found a Chicago woman guilty in the slaying of the pregnant girlfriend of former Chicago Bears player Shaun Gayle.
The jury deliberated nearly four hours Tuesday before finding 43-year-old Marni Yang guilty of first-degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child.
She was accused of shooting Rhoni Reuter of Deerfield in October 2007, killing her and her unborn child.
Gayle was a member of the Bears 1985 Super Bowl team.
Yang didn’t testify during the trial.
Gayle testified during the trial that he met Yang in 2005 and the two had a business relationship that turned sexual.
Prosecutors painted Yang as jealous of Reuter’s relationship with Gayle.
