JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. (AP) — Joint Base Lewis-McChord is welcoming some soldiers home from Afghanistan and preparing to send more to war.

The Army says about 40 ordnance disposal soldiers are due to return late Friday or early Saturday. The members of the 53rd Ordnance Company have been in Afghanistan for a year, clearing roads of improvised bombs.
