OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — Clackamas County, Ore., authorities say one of three men accused of plotting to kidnap Columbia Sportswear Chairwoman Gert Boyle has pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against the other two.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Greg Horner tells KGW-TV that Jose Luis Arevalo entered his pleas Monday.

The Oregonian says Arevalo pleaded guilty to kidnapping, robbery, burglary and criminal conspiracy after a settlement conference with his lawyer, a prosecutor and Clackamas County Presiding Judge Robert Herndon.

Facing similar charges are Ramon Alberto Midence and Nestor Gabriel Caballero Gutierrez.

Arevalo previously told investigators he drove his van to Boyle’s house “for the purpose of kidnapping her,” adding he was to receive $20,000 for his role. Boyle foiled the Nov. 10 abduction attempt by telling one man she had to disable her security alarm, then tripping a silent alarm that called police to her home in West Linn, a Portland suburb.
