Season highlights
• Won four medals, three silver and one bronze, at the Class 2A state championships. Individual second-place finishes were in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. He also swam for the 200 freestyle (second place) and 400 freestyle (third place) relays.
• Said his favorite race this season was winning the 400 freestyle relay at districts in meet-record time. MacKintosh anchored the come-from-behind win, catching favorite Aberdeen.

• Competed in six individual races and five relays for Mount Hood Swim Club at the resent Senior Sectionals.
• Started club swimming at 13 for the Columbia River Swim Team in Vancouver.
• Favorite books: The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka; Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
• Favorite movie: The ‘Lord of the Rings’ series.
• Favorite band: Modest Mouse.
Next year and beyond
• MacKintosh plans to swim in college. He is considering options, among them several NCAA Division III schools in the area.
