Moustaches sprout at sheriff’s office as part of fundraiser

The motto this month for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office is simple: “Grow for it.” As in, grow a moustache to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Thirty two members of the department are going all in with Moustache March 2011. Last year, a contingent about half that size raised $3,500. With about a week and a half left in the month, $6,000 has already been raised, enough to get Sheriff Garry Lucas to have his ’stache trimmed for the second consecutive year.

Lucas had upped the bounty from $1,000 to $5,000. The overall goal set by the sheriff’s office is $10,000.

Bernie & Rollie’s Barber Shop will once again host shave day, which is scheduled for April 1.
