EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Credit Facebook with not only reuniting members of Marysville-Pilchuck High School choirs from 20 years ago, but also with getting them singing again.
It all started when a 1997 graduate, Lakey Malan, went online looking to see if anybody remembered details of a song.
She told The Daily Herald of Everett she had a long thread of comments within 10 minutes.
She tracked down choir members from 1991 to 2004. That led to a reunion in 2009.
And, with a database of 300 names by last December, that led to the formation of a new group called Northern Sound Choirs. It’s been rehearsing at a Marysville church and plans a concert on May 22 and a regional tour in June.
