SALEM, Ore. (AP) — State lawmakers are considering a bill that would require Oregon drivers to use their headlights at all times.
A House committee will hear public testimony on the idea on Friday. Advocates of daytime headlight use say it improves safety by making vehicles more visible to others on the road.
The committee is also scheduled to consider a separate proposal that would require headlight use whenever windshield wipers are turned on.
The House Transportation and Economic Development Committee hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the state Capitol in Salem.
