Letter: Pick unpopulated route for BPA line

Cheryl Brantley’s April 26 letter, “Keep project on older routes,” asks the Bonneville Power Administration to stay away from country property with any new electrical transmission line. She doesn’t think many folks will be affected by constructing the towers in other populated areas. Her suggestion is that because the BPA planned 70 years ago for future expansion along the original corridor, it should obviously go right ahead and build there.

Somehow, I don’t believe BPA knew 70 years ago that there would be 10,000 people living along that corridor, and that nearly all would object to having 15-story towers in their backyards.

Join with the vast number of people asking the BPA to build the new line away from populated areas.
