BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — Three Suquamish police officers lost their jobs in April when they flunked the department’s fitness program.

The Kitsap Sun reports the tribal department’s 15 officers are expected each year to pass the same physical exam that all new officers in Washington are required to pass when they’re in the state law enforcement academy.

Officers have to be able to do at least 21 push-ups and 30 sit-ups and to run 300 meters in 71 seconds, and to run 1.5 miles in less than 15 minutes.
