VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — A Vancouver man returned home and found his wife handcuffed by a burglar armed with a gun.
Police say the man wrestled with the intruder for the gun Thursday and fired a shot as he fled. The shot missed and the burglar got away. The handcuffed wife ran to a nearby grocery store to ask for help.
The Columbian reports the woman had returned home first and and found the man who restrained her with handcuffs. She and her husband were not hurt.
A police manhunt in the area failed to turn up the suspect.
