MOUNT VERNON, Wash. (AP) — A 29-year-old woman is jailed for investigation of murder in the shooting of a 36-year-old Bellingham man in Mount Vernon, Wash.
The Skagit Valley Herald says the victim has been identified as Jose Villalta.
According to court documents, the woman was with the victim and his brother at a restaurant and the brother dropped them off at an apartment building early Saturday morning, then heard gunshots as he drove away. The brother told police he returned to find his relative shot and unresponsive in the parking lot.
The woman told police she also heard shooting but didn’t see what happened.
