CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have recalled reliever Frank Herrmann from Triple-A Columbus.
Herrmann was called up Tuesday for his third stint with the Indians. He is 0-0 with an 8.31 ERA in four appearances. With the Clippers, he had a 3.38 ERA in seven games.
He assumes the roster spot of right-hander Jeanmar Gomez, who was optioned to Columbus on Sunday.
On Wednesday, the Indians will activate Carlos Carrasco from the 15-day disabled list to start against Tampa Bay. He has been on the DL since April 28 with a strained elbow.
