Columbia River sophomore Chloe Bartek shot a 7-over 80 Monday at Lewis River Golf Course and will take a four-shot lead over Prairie’s Maddy Ward into Wednesday’s final round of the Class 3A District 4 girls golf tournament.

Meanwhile, Union’s Belex Cheng shot an 86 and had a two-shot lead over Battle Ground’s Maddy Alamillo in the 4A district tournament, also at Lewis River. The final round for the 4A is this morning.

Cheng and a personal-best round of 95 for Mykala Kolanda led Union to the district team championship, the second in a row for the Titans and first as a 4A program.

“We didn’t play that well during matches this year,” Union coach Gary Mills said. “It was nice that they played well at the right time.”

Skyview’s Delaney Keser sits in third place after a 93. Teammate Emma Wriston is in fifth place with a 99. The Storm finished second in the team competition.

The 3A district uses a point system on the final day of its tournament to determine a team champion.

After the first-round results, it appears it will be a close competition. Prairie has three players in the top five, while Mountain View and Prairie each had five players make the cut to advance to the final round. Columbia River and Camas each have four golfers in Wednesday’s round.

Mountain View’s Rachel Kim is in third place, 13 strokes behind Bartek. Prairie’s Amanda Poore and Jamie Stillwell are tied for fourth.

2A Greater St. Helens — Woodland completed an undefeated season with a victory over Washougal. The Beavers finished 12-0, including 8-0 in league. Woodland’s Nicole Sallee shot a 38 for medalist honors at Washougal’s Orchard Hills. The 2A district tournament is next week at Capitol City Golf Course in Lacey.
