Vancouver — Almega Enterprises Inc., a Vancouver manufacturer of wooden and metal doors, confirmed on Friday it has shut down operations in Vancouver and Kennewick, due to the regional downturn in construction projects.
Almega has laid off all but a few employees who reported to work on Friday to wind down operations at the company’s Vancouver facility, 1305 W. 17th St.
In 2002, Almega Enterprises Inc. employed 30 Vancouver workers, according to newspaper archives kept by The Columbian, but staff numbers had recently dwindled.
