The Columbian Asks: Whom do you want to chat with?

Welcome to the second edition of The Columbian Asks. This occasional feature gives us a glimpse into what’s on the mind of Columbian.com users.

We’re curious about live chats in this latest installment.

If you’re not familiar with live chats, they’re simple. We’ve brought in public figures to answer user-submitted questions on our website. We’ve spearheaded three such chats so far — one with Mayor Tim Leavitt and two with Blazers beat writer Matt Calkins.

We have a few more in store, including a follow-up chat with Mayor Leavitt, State Rep. Sharon Wylie (D-Vancouver) and Scott Bailey, regional economist with the Washington Employment Security Department.

But in the meantime, we want to know whom else you want to hear from. Would you be interested in a chat with Camas astronaut Mike Barratt? What about K.L. Wombacher, co-owner and -general manager of the Yakima Bears? (That’s the class A baseball team that might be moving to Vancouver.)

We are also curious if you would be interested in chatting with Columbian reporters and editors. Do you want to hear from the folks who write about topics such as the Columbia River Crossing, local celebrities, the area economy, education and more?

There are probably folks we haven’t listed whom you want to chat with. Leave a comment with your thoughts and suggestions.
