ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Two more bodies have been found off an Alaska beach, bringing the total to five clam diggers who died after they turned up missing while in a 20-foot skiff.

The five were contract workers for Pacific Alaska Shellfish, which was notified Tuesday afternoon that the crew went missing in an area where they were digging for clams.

Three bodies have already been found southwest of Kalgin Island in Cook Inlet, just off Polly Creek where the company harvests clams.

Coast Guard Petty Officer David Mosley says the two bodies found Wednesday were spotted by a Coast Guard helicopter crew on the mudflats well off the beach near Polly Creek.

He says the bodies have been recovered.
