ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have activated outfielder Grady Sizemore from the 15-day disabled list.

The move was made before Friday night’s game at Tampa Bay. Sizemore had been on the DL with a bruised right kneecap he injured making a hard, late slide into second base May 10.

Sizemore reported no problems after running the bases this week, a final test before being cleared to play by Cleveland’s medical and training staff.

In 18 games before he was hurt, he batted .282 with six home runs, 10 doubles and 11 RBIs.

Sizemore missed most of last season after having microfracture surgery on his left knee.

The Indians optioned outfielder Ezequiel Carrera to Triple-A Columbus after Wednesday’s game against Boston to make room on the roster.
