GLADSTONE, Ore. (AP) — Police in the Portland area say a woman was found shot to death last weekend in her beauty salon in the city of Gladstone.
The Oregonian reports the Clackamas County major crimes team is investigating the death of a 54-year-old Debbie Lee Higbee Benton, a longtime resident and fixture of the small Portland suburb.
Police said no suspects have been arrested in the case and it was not clear what led to the discovery of her body on Saturday night at the small shop where she worked alone.
The Portland newspaper said Higbee Benton had been in a long-term relationship with a Gladstone police sergeant who was on duty the night Higbee Benton died.
