MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing back first-year manager Ron Roenicke’s entire coaching staff next season after the group led the team to the NL championship series.

That includes hitting coach Dale Sveum, for now. Sveum has interviewed for managerial openings with the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox.

Sveum is the longest-tenured coach on the Brewers’ staff, including a brief stint as interim manager in 2008. Under Sveum last season, the Brewers led the NL in home runs (185) and slugging percentage (.425), and were third in batting average (.261). Sveum interviewed with the Cubs on Monday and with the Red Sox last week.

Rick Kranitz will return for his second season as pitching coach. Also coming back are third-base coach Ed Sedar, bullpen coach Stan Kyles, first-base coach Garth Iorg, bench coach Jerry Narron and outfield coach John Shelby.
