LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — An autopsy on a California woman who disappeared during the Rainbow Family gathering has failed to determine her cause of death.
Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox says authorities may never know how 54-year-old Marie Hanson died. Cox told The Daily News (http://bit.ly/umz3HL ) for a story Friday that determining what happened to Hanson will be difficult without forensic evidence.
The South Lake Tahoe woman traveled to Washington’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest on a whim with neighbors for the weeklong gathering. Her family reported her missing after the neighbors said they hadn’t seen her for days.
A witness said Hanson was last seen leaving with a man July 6, though it’s unclear if that is connected to her death. Her belongings were in her tent.
