NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — William Mosley scored 15 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked five shots to lead Northwestern State to an 87-61 win over LeTourneau on Friday night in the season opener.

Mosley, who led NCAA Division I in blocked shots with a 4.9 average last year, had all of his blocks in the first half. Northwestern State, which built an early 49-22 lead, started a stretch of five games in 10 days.

James Hulbin and O.J. Evans each scored 12 points for the Demons. Gary Roberson scored 9 of his 11 points in the first half.

LeTourneau, a Division III team, picked up 13 points by Deitrich Williams and 10 apiece from Paul All and Jake Kennedy.

Mosley, a 6-foot-7 center, made 4 of 6 shots from the floor and sank 7 of 13 free throws — well above the 37 percent rate from the line he endured last season.
