MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — A Medford couple has pleaded not guilty to charges of neglecting and mistreating their four children who were found in filthy conditions, locked in a room at their home.
At their arraignment Monday in Jackson County Circuit Court, 29-year-old Jeramy Allen Hon and 23-year-old Cassandra Lynn Regain were ordered held with bail set at $1 million each.
The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/sN3xnx) Medford police went to the home Thursday after receiving an anonymous report the children were neglected. Police said the children — ages 6 months to 4 years old — appeared neglected and were using a heater vent as a toilet because they did not have access to a restroom.
The children are now in the care of the Department of Human Services.
