Presbyterian runs past Eastern Kentucky 78-50

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Khalid Mutakabbir and Al’Lonzo Coleman combined for 31 points and 14 rebounds in Presbyterian’s 78-50 rout of Eastern Kentucky on Monday night.

Presbyterian (2-1), which ended the first half on a 26-14 run, began the second half with a 27-13 run that extended the lead to 69-36 with 6:00 left to play. Mutakabbir finished with 13 points and six rebounds while Coleman added 18 points and eight rebounds. Tyler Deihl added 11 from the bench and hit three 3-pointers.

Coleman has scored in double digits in three consecutive games.

The Blue Hose shot 52 percent (26 for 50) from the field compared to just 35.4 percent (17 for 48) for Eastern Kentucky (1-2) and outrebounded the Colonels 36-21.

Eastern Kentucky was led by Jaron Jones, who scored 15 points. But Presbyterian played tough defense, holding the Colonels to 5.3 percent (1 for 19) from 3-point range.
